2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,300 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 22 trips to carry that many people.

Listen to: Messiah in Genesis – The Birth of Hope

Messiah in Genesis: The Birth of Hope
(Just scroll down the list of messages on the right hand side, and press go.)

Is Genesis irrelevant to our time? Is it a book that opens with fables and then adds more myths of Abraham and his tribe? Or is it one of the most fascinating and relevant of all documents: the beginning of God’s full engagement with humanity and our first genuine relationship with Him?

Genesis is not just a beginning, it’s a key to the whole story – the birth of hope on the horizon of our history – and yours.

New Video: Joseph – What Am I Doing Here?

Joseph – What Am I Doing Here?

Why is Yeshua, the man of sorrows, sometimes called Moshiach Ben Yoseph – Messiah Son of Joseph? The story of Joseph provides the answers – even as it explores some of the most difficult issues of personal relationships.

Having obtained extraordinary power under Pharaoh, Joseph is confronted by the presence of the brothers who sold him into slavery. All of them will now face a humbling, transformative path – dealing with the pain of sin and the possibility of forgiveness.

Video: Forgiveness & Reconciliation

Forgiveness & Reconciliation

I’ve learned that there’s nothing more deeply needed in the believer’s life than contemplation on a constant basis about forgiveness. In fact, issues of forgiveness are often what hinder us from moving forward. There’s no greater challenge for our life in Yeshua than learning to extend forgiveness to those who have hurt us deeply.

April 27-28, 2014 marks Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day. This talk includes stories from Simon Wiesenthal and Corrie ten Boom. Let us be reminded of their tremendous struggles and the difficult questions that are raised surrounding forgiveness and reconciliation.

Messianic Passover Seder Experience Online

Messianic Passover Seder Experience

You are invited to experience a Messianic Passover for yourself, your fellowship, congregation or family. Follow along as I describe the Seder experience and lead you into the highlights of Yeshua’s Seder with his disciples. The Lord’s Table will come alive in a new way as you see how Yeshua transformed the traditions of Passover—the feast of Israel’s freedom and salvation—into the New Covenant celebration of freedom and salvation in Messiah. You will have a deeper understanding of the actions around his table, the questioning about who will betray him, the last moment of confrontation with Yehuda before he betrays his master and the full significance of “the cup taken after the supper.” Finally, all these elements will unite to provide a clearer picture of what Messiah has done for each one of us and how we’re called to respond.

This is our first trial run at this online Seder experience. Please give us your feedback so that we can improve and update this presentation.

We’ve also attached materials for setting up a family or fellowship Seder table (see “Seder Instructions” next to the Download button), including recipes appropriate to the event. You can listen to the whole presentation as a teaching time or stop where we’ve indicated so that you can enjoy a Passover meal and continue with the concluding section.

New Video: Love Me, Love My Roots

This video called “Love Me, Love My Roots” is about finding breakthroughs to love. We see how God moves us toward remarkable moments when He can transform our hearts. There’s also a compelling story here about Mark John Levy and the roots of Messianic Judaism. (Note: Sound levels are low for the first two minutes, but are fine thereafter.)
